Check out the contract you signed with your credit card company and your merchant account organization.

I’m told there is a provision in the fine print that prohibits such surcharges. Thus, even beyond the consumer orientation of California, the contract between the lawyer and the credit card companies applies to all attorneys across the country. Check out your contract before imposing surcharges.
